Presidential Welcome message; 2010/2011.

WELCOME MESSAGE. With utmost pleasure and honour, I salute you all. Never in the history of mankind has there been a moment such as this one; the beginning of the academic year 2010/2011, and I am almost certain that it will never repeat itself. It is therefore under this note that I extend, on behalf of all the MUBSA executive board members, and on my own behalf, our welcome communiqué, to the following groups. To all the first years, we are grateful you joined this dynamic University, which is a beacon of academic excellence, the Faculty of Science at large, and the Department of Biochemistry in particular and its sister Departments of Botany, Zoology, Chemistry and Geology. We wish you a fruitful stay. Remember that excellence is self service. It is always an honour to welcome continuing students.  Indeed the three months holiday has  been long! Therefore allow me to say that welcome back. To the staff, teaching and non-teaching, I cannot use any better words to thank you all for the great work you always do. All I can say is that your exceptional effort is what turns us into what we are meant to become. I wish you too a great stay during this academic year, one of its own kind, the year 2010/2011. Last but not least, may the souls of all those who departed from this life during the holiday rest in eternal peace. The 11th July tragedy remains fresh in our minds, but may God protect us. Finally, I will deliver a full presidential communiqué on this years' strategic plan during our forth coming General Assembly due to take place in a month's time, as will be communicated by the Publicity Secretary.
